Most PDF tools upload everything to their servers. We don't take that shortcut.
The majority of DocuSmartly's tools — Split, Merge, Compress, Edit, Sign, Images to PDF, PDF to Images, PDF to TIFF, and CV Maker — run entirely in your browser. Those files never leave your device.
A few tools genuinely need server-side processing: Word to PDF, PowerPoint to PDF, Excel to PDF, PDF to Word, PDF to Excel, Protect PDF (qpdf), and AI features like CV Tailor and Smart Extract. For those, your file is sent over HTTPS, processed in memory, and discarded immediately after the request — never logged, never backed up. The one exception is saved OCR / Bulk Invoice batches: those uploads are stored so you can review and export them, and are automatically deleted within 24 hours. We tell you exactly which tools do this in our Privacy Policy.
We built this because handling contracts, IDs, medical records and financial documents shouldn't require blind trust. It should require honesty about where every byte of your file goes.
